Each One, Teach One Gang Prevention and Intervention was established in 1999. Starting as the Capital Region Gang Prevention Program and Gang Prevention Center, it was recognized by the National Gang Crime Research Center in Chicago, Ill. as an exemplary program in 2001. The mission of the program is to coordinate a comprehensive mechanism to reduce gang-related crime and deter youth from joining gangs. To meet this goal, the center has implemented prevention, intervention, and suppression program partnerships with law enforcement, criminal justice agencies, school’s, youth service providers and the public. Each One, Teach One Gang Prevention & Intervention Consulting coordinates anti-gang efforts, including gathering and sharing information on gang activity, gang prevention programming, and direct intervention with gang members, education and gang awareness workshops.

The work never stops. Re-entry focus is an important factor in slowing recidivism. Proud of the many returning citizens preparing themselves for positive change.
